Gotta keep on rollin'…

Well, after an incredibly eventful week I feel tired but happy. I am so tempted to recount absolutely everything as I always do, but then where would the mystery be? And some things are best left unsaid.

Wednesday night I graced the red carpet of a movie premiere. The movie was soooo bad, but the limo ride made up for it. And, hey, I was there for the experience.

The majority of the weekend was spent in Katoomba at Kyckstart which was excellent. The weekend was devoid of tears and filled with op shopping and junk shop fun. The teaching was simple and to the point, with very memorable illustrations!!

And as if I hadn't had enough of the freezing cold mountain weather, off I went again on Sunday night!! A group of us went to hear the last part of a jazz gig and then a spot of star gazing, which was possibly the highlight of my weekend. Shooting stars and feeling absolutely awed by the vastness of it all. Amazing.

Bumped down to reality briefly yesterday and watched Jess and Ellie build a large cubby house in our lounge room complete with a corridor and a secret entranceway!

Holidays are so much better than real life!

I expected to spend the looong weekend on the couch watching DVD's and eating till I exploded. Thankfully it was slightly more stimulating…

Friday was just a great day. Church was excellent, although the music was weird. Other than that, very thought-provoking, and the puppets were great! We decided that it was picnic weather so I spent the arvo at Rouse Hill. When we arrived home again I could'nt find my keys and was convinced I'd lost them at the park. We drove back and spent 1/2 an hour looking in the grass. After a while I resigned myself to the loss and we drove home. Guess what I found hanging on the key rack??? Jess (or Frankie for that matter) will never let me live that one down.

The weekend also included… impromptu fish and chip lunch guests including our minister. Plus late night games and art farty fun. Also managed to avoid easter egg consumage until yesterday when my sister produced lint chocolate eggs…

AND I watched '50 First Dates'… best thing since Wedding Singer.

NOT to go around defending people who say they are 'just friends'. This is the second incidence where the couple in question have started going out!!!!

Oh well…I have a whole long weekend of nothingness to look forward to… :)

Happy Easter peoples!!!

And the truth comes out…

My weekend turned out to be even more interesting than I was expecting…and my friends found out that I am even more gullible than they hoped!!

It turned out that elaborate plans had been put in place to throw me a surprise birthday bash.

I had invited a select few to come to dinner on Thursday and before I made any more plans they took over and told me they were cooking me dinner. Jo told me she would take me out in the afternoon so “you won't be tempted to help in the kitchen”. I thought that was fair enough and therefore got sucked in!

We ended up going to Windsor and finding a cute little icecream shop. Then as we were driving home Jess called Jo and said they were'nt ready for us yet. Sooooo Jo started complaining about how hot she was and said she had to go home and change her clothes THEN they said we had to buy icecream for dinner. By this time I was soooo cranky, I just wanted to go home!!

When we got there Jo and Emma and obviously had instructions to be really loud so they'd know we were coming so they sang at the top of their lungs all the way into our complex… followed by me crankily telling them off for making so much noise!! Anyway it was really nice to get the SURPRISE at the end of all that!!!

Fondu and millions of fairy lights… plus the coolest presents including enormous fluro pink novelty slippers!!

It was the best even though I am not a 'surprise' person. It was done in exactly the right way so I DIDN'T get the fright of my life and burst into tears!!

Moving right along. Parkes was good as well minus the locust plague!!! They disemboweled themselves periodically on my windscreen throughout the journey making Alison almost vomit. She grabbed my phone and started playing snake so she wouldn't have to look at the windscreen and got a score sooo high that I don't think I'll EVER beat it!

Other highlights included watching 'Only You' (minus my Dad making sucking noises during the kissing bits), going to 'The Dish' and pressing all the buttons on the replica on the 1960's switchboard used in the movie and having my first gluten-free birthday cake.

The only freak-out moment was when Al and I were driving around garage sales and we saw a large old fashioned picture of a topless woman at every single one we went to, including a CHURCH!!!!

My home-town is so weird, it's nice to go back and be reminded of that.
