a nice weekend…
On the suggestion of dear Christopher (and to our amusement) we went to see Miss Congeniality 2 on thursday night. It was… a 'Speed 2' of a kind. Well the one similarity it was that they ended up in a ship at the end! But generally hilarious for both guys and girls (the hilarity was perhaps added to by the hype of having 4 days off ahead of us..)and only a small sub-plot of romance which was unusual, but ok by me.
Friday was church – and then I wrote my youth church study. It gives the resurrection yet another angle when you actually have to impress the importance of it onto 13 year-olds. But in the end it went really well. I am always surprised at how God works through me when I present a study.
And then Saturday was my first time at the Royal Easter Show. My wishes were granted- plus some… it was SO much fun! Hedley (the friend with the connections) got us guest member passes so we avoided crowds alot.
Snapshots of the day…
- Watching as Jess made a fool of herself and had photo with the Nesquick bunny
- finishing off 2 buckets of fairy floss, 20 Krispy Kreams and a variety of 'grease-on-a-sticks' between us. (please note I was not involved in any dagwood dog/battered cheese consumage during the course of the day)..
- Watching the 'axe throwing' – it involved throwing a double sided axe at a target – scary/interesting to watch..
- Wondering whether it was worth waiting in line for 1/2 an hour to see a pig jump into a tank of water..
- convincing Jess that I would take her to Parkes and she could have her photo with any number of sheep when she wanted to pay to have a photo with a lamb..
- Having my photo taken with Jess on a police motorbike… and suddenly being handcuffed by the officer!!??
- the Storm Riders and the the motorbike jump peoples – so much scarier in real life!!
- Chris and Leigh getting afro and Jamaican wigs respectively..
- getting the best view for the fireworks.. ![]()
- a ride in the Ferris Wheel… classic
Meanwhile I am still recovering… it was apparently a little more exhausting than I realised at the time… the fog set in around lunch-time yesterday… but it was so worth it.
