We’ve been having some erratic stormy weather lately… possibly not as violent as in some places… but still, lovely, loud crazy storms.. I’ve always loved storms, since I was a little girl. Coming from a farming community which depended on water, I guess I adopted that uplifted feeling that affected the whole place whenever it rained.
The best part is the clouds. Especially after the storm when they sit high and clear and white. I spotted some the other day after a particularly big storm and they were absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I didn’t have my camera.. and I was driving.. so the above is the closest I can get to it. Except higher and whiter and clearer…

Yes – I’ve had that kind of week.
I’m trying to figure out where the line is when it comes to being outraged
When the cafeteria downstairs charges me $4.50 for a salad consisting of lettuce leaves and dressing – should I complain?
When I go to Spotlight and the lady behind the counter gets poster paint all over my new fabric when putting my purchases in plastic bags (and not offer a replacement) should I make a scene?
When someone decides to stomp on my car and cause thousands of dollars of damage, should I sue our strata for not providing adequate parking spaces?
My grumpy face says yes..
The rest of me tells me to *sigh*, say ‘that’s life’ and move on (so I don’t have to deal with conflict).
How would God want me to react?
Romans 12:17-19 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
Hmmm…

My car got mutilated – but life goes on apparently.
I went to a BBQ on Friday night at campus. It’s been good to get to know the students H works with, plus I know who he’s talking about when he tells me about his day! Most of the residents are overseas students so it ends up getting pretty interesting! I ended up chatting to couple of girls from Germany who told me that the thing they missed most was German bread… I’ll have to try that out.
Afterwards, since H was going out late with some friends, I had my first girly sleepover in ages with strawberries and chocolate and salt and vinegar chips…. very nice, but very tiring! Haoran picked me up in the morning and I went straight back to sleep for an hour when I got home.
We had an appointment in the mountains, so off we went… I had all these grand plans of making the most of the trip, but we were both so unmotivated and tired that it ended up being a straight there and back affair. We came back and I crashed. I must have been pretty exhausted, because I slept for another 3 hours! Either that sleep over really got to me, or I was fighting off something…
Sunday was our first week back at church for what feels like months. Haoran and I managed to put a decent BBQ together for dinner after only figuring out we were on about 1pm that afternoon… It was nice. I forget how much I enjoy our weird and wonderful church.
I found out that my work often lends cars to people who need them for short periods… so I made some enquiries. We could survive with one car, but I figured I’d make the most of the opportunity and get to drive a Hyundai for a while. So I’ve got a little brand new Getz for two weeks (yes – it’s going to take that long to fix) which is quite nice

You won’t believe this – I don’t even believe it.
I walked out to the car this morning and, well… it’s hard to describe. The insurance company calls it ‘malicious damage’… I call it ‘trashed’.
It looks like someone with muddy feet climbed onto the roof of the car, jumped up and down on the roof until it collapsed and then pulled the aerial out.
It makes me sad. What did my car ever do to them? Why do it in the first place?
The funny thing is that I washed the car the day before – I didn’t have time to do it over the last few weeks and there was still remnants of eggs from the last incident. Plus: we left the car on the street for almost a week while we were away – with no problems! Plus: this was the last day it had to be parked on the street, from tomorrow the garage is free to use again.
So the insurance company have it and it’s possible that it might be so damaged that it could be written off.

With the dollar going so well at the moment, it’s so tempting to buy a whole lot of stuff off the internet just because it’s cheap..
Like this…. or maybe this.
Should I buy them? Or drop huge hints to people that they’re on my Christmas list??? Hmmm..
