Crochet Bliss

Posted in Projects at 2:49 pm by Sarah

L gave me a crash course on crochet last year in exchange for the use of my sewing machine. I made about 100 granny squares and decided to branch out and try to read patterns – which ended up being mostly guesswork. Who knew the difference between sc, dc and hdc? I just fiddled and made it work apparently – since I did make a few useable things in the process. Read the rest of this entry »

Christian Music

Posted in Links at 10:06 am by Sarah

An article on how Christian music has evolved and how it can get better…

Makes a good point actually. H and I have been listening to quite a bit of Christian music over the last few months… ‘Sovereign Grace’ and various Emu Music albums. I enjoy the music and the great lyrics.  But apart from the melody, the songs all manage to sound so similar! One particular album has a song on it that, until I hear the lyrics, I could swear was the intro to a previous song.

Anyway, apart from being ‘courageous in the craft’ the article also talks up hymns big time. Apparently we’ve reduced modern songs to one point – therefore we need to sing more of them. But ‘old hymns can unpack a whole theology’.
